Rev. Dr. Undunty Daniel / Ministerial Secretary

Rev. Dr. U. Daniel (born February 9, 1967) is a man of God and a distinguished personality
within the Church of South India, Medak Diocese.

He is renowned for his unwavering commitment to service, exceptional leadership, and significant contributions across various dimensions of the Church community. He was ordained as Deacon on June 29, 1997, and as Presbyter on Dec 7, 1998. With a deep-rooted family legacy in church involvement, Rev. Dr. U. Daniel's life journey has been characterised by a steadfast dedication to his faith, education, and community development.

Early Life and Family Legacy

Rev. U. Daniel's formative years were nurtured within the Church of South India, particularly in the Medak Diocese. His family's esteemed tradition of service was exemplified by his grandparents who held revered positions as Presbyter in-charges within the Medak Diocese. This legacy underscored the family's enduring commitment to the church's mission.

Contribution of his parents/ Inspiration to Service

Rev. U. Daniel's father, Late U. G. Rathnaiah s/o Rev U. Manikyam, served as a Mandal Development Officer (a gazetted officer) in the Government of Telangana (then Andhra pradesh) India, dedicating his efforts to the advancement of rural communities across the state of Telangana. His role in planning, implementing, and monitoring government schemes for socio-economic development showcased a commitment to community service, which indeed played a big role in Rev. Dr. U. Daniel’s leadership.

His mother, Mrs. U. Manoharamma, served as a dedicated nurse in the Government Medical Department Nizamabad (Telangana). Notably, her compassionate engagement in Jail Ministry at Nizamabad highlighted her empathy and willingness to serve the needy and distressed and was awarded by the then collector of Nizamabad. Mrs. U. Manorama’s active role as a pastorate committee member within the church further revealed her commitment to faith and congregational well-being. His two sisters are currently serving in Government Medical Department as senior nurses and his elder brother-in-law has retired as a presbyter in CSI Medak Diocese and the younger brother-in-law is serving in the Medical Department of Telangana.

Family and Personal Life

Rev. Dr. U. Daniel's family played an integral role in his journey of serving Christ. His wife, Mrs. U. Rosy Chrisolite, contributed as a teacher at St. Georges pre-primary school Hyderabad, Telangana, emphasizing and imparting education's importance into children’s lives. She has also served as Godavari Diocesan Council Women's Fellowship Secretary and a vibrant preacher of the word of God in women's retreats and church services.

God blessed him with three sons, each forging unique paths, embraced faith in Christ and service values. Eldest son Mr. U. Stephenson is an IT professional. He has served as a Judicial Support Officer in the Ministry of Justice of New Zealand looking after the Judges. The son is a Gospel Artist recognised and appreciated nationally and internationally. Second son Mr. U. Manorathan is an IT Professional and has pursued his Masters in IT in London. He is now an IT Professional working for a Bank in London. He is also serving God at a Church as lay leader and a local preacher under the Pastor in one of the churches of England at London. Youngest son Mr. U. Suraj Paul is pursuing his career in Information Technology and Business Management at St. Joseph Degree College, Hyderabad (Telangana).

As a passionate advocate for youth, he served as the youth director in the diocese of Medak, guiding young individuals on their spiritual journeys. His role as the Convenor Professional Education Board in the diocese of Medak, underscored his commitment to quality education within the diocesan institutions.

His impact reached its zenith during his tenure the Diocesan council unanimously elected him as the Ministerial Secretary of Church of South India, Diocese of Medak twice and was elected Unanimously as Hon Diocesan Treasurer of Church of South India Diocese of Medak. In these roles, he fostered collaboration, coordinated efforts, and facilitated communication among diverse church departments and initiatives.

Looking at his dynamism and humble service, CSI Synod appointed him as one of the members of the administration committee to guide the administration and conduct the diocesan council elections at Krishna Godavari Diocese. His contribution in various committees at CSI Synod administration is well appreciated.

Rev. Dr. U. Daniel's contributions extended beyond administrative roles. His pastoral leadership was evident as Presbyter in charge across multiple District Church Councils in the Diocese of Medak. Notably, his vision for the Construction of Wesley Church, Ramkote, Hyderabad, Telangana, India to the setting capacity around 10000 to 15,000 worshippers, stands as a testament to his dynamic leadership and vision for a vibrant worship space. His role in constructing Wesley Bagh apartments further reflected his commitment to community-centric facilities. His witness in all the churches he served was remarkable.
